Amid an overall uptick in India’s goods exports in May, spice exports slipped 20 per cent year-on-year, official trade data released Friday showed. This comes after Hong Kong and Singapore in April found higher than permissible levels of pesticide ethylene oxide (EtO) in MDH and Everest shipments. After registering a 51 per cent and 12 per cent year-on-year jump in spice exports in March and April respectively, spice exports slipped by 20.28 per cent in May to $361.17 million.
