Peace, the long-standing message for Memorial Day

This year’s Memorial Day comes right before the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of June 6, 1944. On D-Day, thousands of Americans gave their lives in the World War II invasion that began the liberation of Europe and led to the defeat of Nazi Germany. Our troops on D-Day and other battles and wars have sacrificed so that we may live in peace. Memorial Day is a chance to honor those sacrifices and continue our quest for peace at home and overseas.
