A company says it may cease operating as it claims it is owed around £800,000 for engineering work carried out on a project in Liverpool. In April 2023, MCB Civils was employed as a groundworks sub-contractor on a project, known as ‘Project Alpha’, to construct a new facility in Speke for life sciences company Pharmaron Biologics. Pharmaron, which has its Liverpool base at the Estuary Business Park, is led by billionaire Lou Boliang and is headquartered in Beijing.
