With the latest CPI report coming in hotter than expected, it looks like the market is coming more in line with the previous Fed expectations. That is, for fewer cuts, and if the cuts do happen, they’ll probably be in the latter half of 2024. The next Fed meeting isn’t until March, and there will be plenty more data between now and then that can change the outlook. That being said, according to the FedWatch Tool, there is still around a 40% probability that rates will be cut in May….
