According to the National Health Commission’s report on Saturday, the Chinese mainland recorded 253 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 194 of which were in Shanghai. Apart from Shanghai, there were new local COVID-19 cases in 12 other provincial-level regions on the mainland, including 32 in Beijing. On Friday, Shanghai reported 1,487 locally transmitted asymptomatic infections of the novel coronavirus, out of a total of 1,726 newly detected local asymptomatic carriers on the mainland.
