We are writing to clarify the issues brought up in Paul Zimmerman’s letter published on August 20 (“ HKU ‘floating lab’ plan needs a rethink ”). The site to the east of No 3 Sassoon Road was chosen for the development of a new academic building of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong, after due consideration, taking a balance between meeting the needs for additional teaching and research facilities and minimising impact to the environment.
